Okay, let’s get this over with…..

My name is Mike, I am 69 years old, retired and living by the sea somewhere on the East coast.

Overall, I am happy to have made it this far but life has not always been a bed of roses and has dealt me some pretty smelly cards from time to time.

I left school at 16 with nothing to be proud of but for a love of woodwork and began working for a local electrician where I was sacked after 12 months for suggesting a pay rise.

Shocked and stunned, I thought it was the end of the world (as we know it) and had no idea what to do next and in what I thought then was a good move, signed on the dotted line and was quickly shipped off to RAF Swinderby, taught how to march, make a bed pack and shine me shoes.

Twenty odd years later I shone-up me shoes for the last time, let go of the side and said goodbye to the amazing times and family that had surrounded me throughout my career.

From then to now, it feels like I have been riding a roller-coaster which often seemed out of control. But for my rock that has kept me on the straight and narrow as best she can. I am a lucky chap!

I travel when I can, always carry a camera and find it difficult (and unusual) to turn down food!

Spending most of my time these day’s photographing birds in the garden, putting together nesting boxes of different shapes and sizes and that’s in-between chillin’ and grillin’ with my superwoman! 🙂
